Scraping and it's use in search engines or AI should be recognized as
illegal and the data then purged.
Search engines as we know it should be meta engines which individual
websites / services link their own internal search engine and data dump
to. AI and search engines should have amnesia and be re-trained only by
consent of content providers; e.g. public domain stuff, individual
Twitter accounts, redditors, whole subreddits, WordPress blogs, etc.
It isn't hard to implement this.
Individuals who participate with an AI should be able to create a silo
of their data and interactions. Those people could, at their option,
offer up their data for scraping.
The way the internet has settled has always been blunt and
shortsighted, and it takes decades to figure things out, so I don't
have much hope unless the nerds all go build a new internet (again).
