I'll second that - great presentation, lots of learnin'.

The link http://bclug.ca:8008/tools/ will give an nginx "fancy-index" to
3 tools (directories):
* fancy-hover:
* on mouse hover, a gradient fill will transition
under the elements with class fancy-hover (CSS)
* a mousemove listener will change the gradient as
a mouse moves along it (JS)
* random-scramble:
* at page load or mouseover, any elements with a
"random-scramble" class will have all their
characters repeatedly randomized
* upper, lower, digit, and punctuation types will be preserved
* once a minimum number of cycles have occurred (5?),
the random chars are replaced with the original, left to right
* curled-corners:
* a visual effect to make it look like an element is on paper
that is curling up at the corner(s)
* this is a work in progress
* when resizing a window, the effect can drift outside the wrong
edges of the styled element - this needs work, there may not
be a one-size-fits-all solution
* JS will probably be used to measure the element and adjust
the CSS variables to ensure pleasant visuals at any size
* JS may be implemented to make the corner curl effect change
with mouse movement
* all:
* currently applies fancy-hover and random-scramble to elements
With a few more tweaks, these will be available to plug into any project
by merely including a couple very small files and applying the desired
CSS class to chosen elements.

This idea sounds really fun, I'd like to do this if anyone's interested
in the state of JS in 2024.

I'd like to third this - it was a really great evening.
