I use a Samsung, and I can use a hub with an HDMI out. When I plug it
into my monitor my phone automatically uses the screen (widescreen and
all). (Samsung DeX)

I can have the monitor being an extended screen and the phone remains
monitor1 or becomes a touch pad.

I also have experience using audio out on a hub and external speakers.
I've also used audio out via HDMI and a monitor which has speakers.

I use a mouse and keyboard and have used other storage devices,
although I need to use a for-pay program from Paragon Software to use
exFAT/NTFS.

The only drawback I've noticed is streaming using Discord.

As for backups, when plugged into my computer, my phone prompts me to
act just like a USB stick.

We live in the future.
