I haven't yet conquered this issue. My suspicion is that a starting
point in the diagnosis would be to replace my ufork.py backgrounder
with a backgrounder in C that has a lot of the calls seen in the bottom
of http://ewontfix.com/14/ . I have a feeling I'm missing a wait() or
waitpid() or something like that in my ufork.py.
