Subject: [DISCUSS] One page introduction to Git
Hi,
The following Git tutorial crossed my stream today and I thought it was
worth sharing.
I've been looking for -- what I consider to be -- a good introduction
to Git that is not overwhelming to new users.
I think that the following page is probably one of the better / shorter
/ easier reads that both makes you aware of some things you can do and
shows the minimum needed to do them.
So if you have any interest in starting to mess with Git, I suggest you
refill your mug and spend a few (five?) minutes reading and maybe
another five to ten minutes poking at things on your own system.
I think the following sections are particularly germane for the recent
SLUUG website work:
- What is Git and why use it?
- The Git Workflow: Understanding the Basics
- Working with Remote Repositories
I think the other sections are worth reading too, but not as timely as
those above.
