That's an interesting thought which I've not heard of. I suppose it could be possible, though I'm not sure those particular dependencies wouldn't be replaced by the packager. Also, I doubt any of those dependencies would be any older that what comes with, say, Debian itself. Just because they're old doesn't mean they have vulnerabilities.
