The best tip for this is add the manual to notebooklm. I wasted over 10 minutes yesterday with an LLM repeatedly hallucinating about how to identify the exact part at runtime including hallucinating non existant registers and telling me is your manual this version and why I couldn't find it. Notebooklm grounded in the actual manual gave me the answer straight away.
