Tailscale (or just its underlying technology - WireGuard) would be the
best way as far as I know.

Unsure if / how Tailscale handles frequently changing IP addresses at
home though?

Does your home IP change very often?

I'm on cable internet with a pretty static IP and WireGuard worked very
well - fast connections & re-connections, and bandwidth was close to max
possible with my ISP.

There are quite a few podcasts, etc., sponsored by Tailscale. You could
probably find a promo code to

a) get a discount

and/or

b) support a worthy content creator / YouTube channel
