[GoLUG] No more bounce handling on this list, for now

Hi all,
Sy Ali has very generously let GoLUG use his email server/list server.
Now, something is wrong with GoLUG's setup such that NONE of his email
is getting through, so of course he had to drop bounce processing,
which I believe means any fool can put spam on this list.
Unfortunately, with SPF, DKIM, DMARC and all that bullshit, email gets
more difficult to configure every year, and (my fault) because of
GoLUG's greater emphasis on programming, email admin geniuses like
Kevin Korb and Joe LeBlanc aren't around anymore.
Sy offered me the opportunity to fix it, but I'm an email dummy: I'd
find it easier to write my own init system than to configure email in
2025.
Here's what I CAN do: Every time some fool spams our list, I'll add him
to a blacklist, and routinely publish that blacklist as a procmail
recipe that you can run. If you need a format different from procmail
recipes, I can probably accommodate that if you give me a
specification. So nobody will spam the list more than once.
Sy, if you can put procmail anywhere in your GoLUG processing stack, I
can give you a special procmail.rc that emails the guy back and says he
must sign up to post, no ifs, ands or buts. And then drop his post.
There's more than one way to skin a cat, and you're right, SPF, DKIM,
DMARC and all that bullshit isn't the way.
