Hi Sy, some points!

1) Thanks so much for hosting our mailing list for all these years.

2) It took some real intelligence an troubleshooting to figure out what
   the heck was happening.

3) The bounce processing processes and outcomes you describe aren't at
   all necessary. I'm glad you shut them down: Shutting them down makes
   the technology simpler.

4) A hard and fast rule that non-subscribers cannot post, no ifs, ands
   or buts, is an excellent idea. If I never see another "please CC me
   because I'm not on the list", it will be too soon.

5) So far, our mailing list is working no differently than before,
   which is a good thing.

6) Thanks for all you're doing, Sy!
