That looks really cool!  With the web becoming as opaque as it is, and
with young people purposefully giving up on smart-things, it is
possible that a bunch of independent or federated BBS sites could rise
again.

(I’m a little young to remember the first age of BBSes, but my
understanding is a typical BBS this is just a service provided over
e.g. telnet.  If that’s the case, then it is like the web, except with
a VT100-compatible terminal instead of a gigabyte-sized web browser.
Also, modern terminal emulators offer nice extensions like 256-bit
color and in the case of alacritty (iirc) support for blitting real
images in a terminal session.)
