Citation on what they investigated?


It seems that they knew what they wanted (a services management system,
not yet another init system), they looked around, adopted "the Litt
Principle", and started a new project.

Perfectly reasonable.

And yet multiple teams of Linux experts at Canonical, RedHat, etc. were
looking to replace it.

Who are we to think has greater knowledge on the topic?



Also, I'll draw your attention to the fact that we're not in the 00's
anymore. Shockingly, technology requirements change over decades.


You're basically looking at a Ford F150 and whining that there were
perfectly good bicycles they could have built it upon.
